Notebook Doodles & Explorations
My first ink drawings were created as part of my portfolio application to NSCAD University. They are in multiple small art notebooks, often created late at night. They evolved spontaneously and are in various states of completeness. Explorations of design and patterning, they emerged through a process I think of as “follow-the-line”, which allows for an unconscious flow of ideas to unfold without any preconceived idea or plan. The subject matter that emerged was often biological, relationship- or nature-based.
